The
Ministry:
God has given to me the gift of music. To study and learn to play
the piano, the organ, to arrange music, compose music and to write
songs. He has called me to use and to develop these gifts for
Him. And to this extent is to what I base my Music Ministry.
Music has always been used to comfort, to soothe,
to initiate feelings of happiness and contentment. All of these
feelings and more are tools that I use in my Music Ministry. In
my performances, I want those listening to become involved in
what they are hearing. I want them to be blessed by what they
hear and in some aspect relate it to the season in their life.
If they do not know the Lord, I want it to be an instrument of
bringing them to know Him.
Whether, I am performing a concert in a church,
playing in a retirement community, performing in a Christian Book
Store or any other event, I want my audience, to hear beauty,
sense the love of Jesus, and my love for Him as they listen to
the music. To feel the presence of the Holy Spirit moving in their
lives and the anointing of God’s presence. My prayer as
I prepare for any event, is that God will bless me with calmness
and focus and that I will glorify Him with my performance and
use my talents in the capacity in which He has given them to me.
Additionally, “that all glory and honor are His, now and
forever more.”
I am currently the Minister of Music at Halethorpe-
Relay UMC. It is my responsibility to provide and play music for
the services as well as direct two choirs, work with soloist,
and any other musical responsibilities that may be needed for
the worship services. I am trained in playing the organ so my
music is performed on both the piano and the organ as needed.
I also teach piano lessons in my home. I have a
very unique program that includes private instruction, digital
lab and computer music theory. All of this provides for me additional
opportunities to “let my light shine.” I base my studio
policies on Christian values and require my students to conduct
themselves accordingly. I further encourage my students to become
involved in the musical activities of their church and will even
train them in the different aspects of church music. In 2005,
Linda was nominated by a former piano student to be published
in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Who’s
Who Among America’s Teachers published Linda once again
in 2006. Only 4% of the nominees are selected for publication
more than one time. Also in 2006, Linda was nominated by the same
piano student to be published in Outstanding American Teachers.
This publication was for 2007. Teaching Piano is just one additional
way that Linda uses her God given gifts and talents for the Glory
of God. It is always a blessing to touch another life and inspire
that person to use their gifts in a Godly way as well. God is
still giving me instruction as to how He wants me to use my talents
for Him.

Linda Kazmarek has been playing the
piano since she was six years old. Her piano teacher thought that
she was too young to start piano lessons, but at the urging of
her mother, the teacher agreed. After the first lesson, the teacher
did not have any doubts that Linda was ready for piano lessons.
She was always very curious about learning new music and would
spend hours going through music that belonged to her two older
brothers, and her mother who sang in the church choir and the
Sweet Adeline’s. She loved to practice and the most
difficult part was getting her to stop.
Music in Linda Kazmarek's family was very important,
but most important was their faith in God. Linda, at the
age of nine, came to know the Lord and at the age of 12 dedicated
her life to full-time Christian service. As a child, she
played in church, sang in the church choirs, sang solos, and played
for and directed the children’s choir. During her
teens, she also took Organ lessons, became one of the organists
for the church and also was the pianist for the Adult Choir and
a male quartet, which performed in various churches in the state
of Maryland.
In school she was just as active, playing for school
programs, playing for her music class and assisting the music
teacher in the classroom. She also accompanied a 100-voice
choir and worked with the soloist and other special music performers
at her teacher’s direction. Her school music teacher
said that Linda was her “ right hand.” She received
the music award for her class at graduation. Linda attended
and graduated from the Peabody Institute of Music, earning a degree
in Music Education with a major in piano and a minor in voice.
Linda has continued to further her education with postgraduate
studies. She has held positions as organist, choir director
and pianist in several churches. This has given her many
opportunities to perform and play piano solos for all occasions.
Linda has held the position of Minister of Music in several Baltimore
Churches. Today, she continues to support the music ministry of
the local church. She is currently serving as the Minister of
Music at Halethorpe-Relay UMC located in Halethorpe, MD.
She has produced and recorded seven CDs at Omega
Studio in Rockville, Md. These CD’s in order of production
are as follows: “His Name is Jesus”, “Praise
Peace and Promise”, “Celebrate Christmas”, “Believe”.
It’s Christmas”, “Behold” and “Awesome
and Amazed.” It should be noted, that on all of Linda’s
CD’s, there are several original compositions and all of
the other music on her CD’s are her own arrangements of
the music.
